Paula is a passionate Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with individuals and families across various age groups. Since beginning her mental health career in 2008 as a crisis counselor for sexual assault survivors, she has dedicated herself to supporting teens and adolescents in underserved communities through a variety of therapeutic settings. Utilizing creative methods like Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Paula helps clients explore and embrace their unique stories and adversities, guiding them towards self-discovery and resilience.
Get to Know Paula
Paula is a passionate therapist who believes that there is power within our adversities, and unique stories. She is licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy, and has years of experience working with families, as well as individuals of all age groups. Her first calling to the mental health field was in 2008; she began volunteering as a crisis counselor for sexual assault survivors. She was inspired by the resilience of these individuals, and driven to help give language to their truth. From here, Paula then started providing therapeutic services to teens, and adolescents living within underserved communities in school, outpatient, and group home settings.
Paula has experience using creative approaches to help guide individuals in their discovery of the Self. She’s used modalities ranging from Internal Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, Action Methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other methods to guide individuals in accessing their truth. She believes that each of us has a unique story that should be heard, nurtured, accepted, and embraced.
